Sabrina Pettineo is a Logistics and Customs Specialist at Hilcona

My recipe for success: If you want to get somewhere in your profession and accept new challenges, you should make use of the opportunities offered by a large company.

«After spending six months in England to learn the language, I accepted a new professional challenge as Ordering Clerk at Hilcona. As Logistics and Customs Specialist, I am now responsible for exports and mainly do work related to customs such as preparing export papers and statements for the Principal Customs Office. I also train the apprentices working in our department, help out with "emergencies" in the Logistics department and deputise for our department head. A particular challenge of my work is that our continuously expanding product range means the export process and customs requirements are growing ever more complex. As this brings me into contact with the most diverse departments, for example if they need my logistics and customs know-how, my work is very varied and interesting. I also appreciate the enormous trust that my line manager puts in me. From the outset, Hilcona has supported my career in many ways. Such as helping me obtain my Federal Diploma of Higher Education as Logistics Expert and currently with my studies towards an Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education as Foreign Trade Manager. I can recommend a position with such a large company to those who wish to achieve something like this in their profession. There is also an opportunity to get to know other interesting departments and to accept new internal challenges.»

Sabrina Pettineo, 29, joined Hilcona in 2011 as a clerk in Customer Order Processing. She transferred to the Logistics department two years later, where she currently works as Logistics and Customs Specialist.
