Business area Hubers/Sütag

Very good result

Hubers/Sütag did very well in 2025. Continued strong demand for poultry products led to substantial volume growth. Its growth can primarily be attributed to its head start with product ranges that meet higher animal welfare standards and its leading role in the production of slow-growing breeds. Hubers/Sütag is the pioneer in sustainable organic poultry production in Europe, and has earned a strong position in the market with regard to sustainability and husbandry standards.

Expansion in Pfaffstätt

Production capacity is almost exhausted, not least because of the strong growth experienced in the past few years. In addition, perspectives in the poultry market are very promising. Hubers is therefore investing in production capacity and future performance at all levels with a facility development plan for Pfaffstätt (AT). This plan involves the new build of a second slaughtering, cutting and filleting plant and the installation of a turkey slaughtering line, whereby particular emphasis is placed on the further improvement of animal welfare. Construction work started in spring 2025 and is proceeding according to plan.

Expansion of fattening pens

In view of the rising demand for poultry meat, Hubers is aiming to work together with additional fattening farms. The goal is to have around 600 fattening farms for integrated production under contract by 2033. The latest animal welfare standards are applied to all construction projects. For example, all new fattening pens should have a winter garden or additionally meet the standards for organic certification.

Acquisition of Böcker Hatchery

The purchase of Böcker Hatchery in Wallhausen (DE) as of 1 January 2026 will strengthen the position of Hubers/Sütag in the Southern German poultry market. The acquisition of a stake in this family company founded in 1991 is an important step towards securing and expanding the Wallhausen location in the long term.
