The Bell Group takes over salad specialist Eisberg
The Bell Group is taking over the Eisberg Group, which specializes in convenience salads and is based in Dänikon, as of 01.04.2016. Eisberg generates annual sales of over CHF 55 million with around 400 employees. The company specializes in the production of fresh leaf salads and leaf salad dishes. With production facilities in Switzerland, Poland, Hungary, Romania and a purchasing office in Spain, the group serves customers in the food retail, food service and gastronomy sectors. Organizationally, Eisberg will be merged with the existing company Gastro Star and form an independent subsidiary of Hilcona. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The takeover is subject to the approval of the relevant competition authorities.
For the Bell Group, the acquisition of Eisberg means a strengthening of the convenience salads segment. In Switzerland, the acquisition will enable capacity bottlenecks to be overcome. Internationally, further growth potential can be tapped thanks to Hilcona's great expertise in the fresh convenience segment. The sale to the Bell Group opens up new sales and growth opportunities for Eisberg.
