Bell Food Group takes over sandwich production from ARYZTA Switzerland

Hilcona, part of the Bell Food Group, is taking over the sandwich production of ARYZTA Switzerland. All employees and the production site will be taken over. Hilcona is thus further expanding its market position in the growing area of daily fresh sandwiches.

With the takeover of ARYZTA Switzerland's sandwich production in Schlieren, Hilcona AG, which is part of the Bell Food Group, will gain additional production capacity for ultra-fresh sandwiches from August 1, 2021. At the same time, Hilcona AG is expanding its market leadership in this growing segment with the new fresh production facility. With the acquisition, Hilcona is taking over all of ARYZTA Switzerland's approximately 25 sandwich production employees as well as the production site in Schlieren. The contracting parties have agreed not to disclose any details of the contract.

Together with the Hilcona production site in Orbe (VD) with around 500 employees, Hilcona AG can meet the increased demand for daily fresh, artisan sandwich variations. "Freshly baked bread and top-quality raw materials remain the most important ingredients for success", emphasizes Lorenz Wyss, CEO of the Bell Food Group. "We differentiate ourselves in the growing segment of ultra-fresh products with customer proximity, innovation and traditional manufacturing quality.
